Meet Our Team

CRADLE is located in the Carousel Center at 1112 Gallia Street, Portsmouth, OH between Waller St and Stinton St (next to Temple Baptist).

Who We Are

CRADLE (Christ-centered Resources to Assist in Difficult Life Experiences) was organized in 1996 exclusively for the purpose of sharing the good new of Jesus Christ through the Christ-centered provision of crisis pregnancy intervention and related helps. The center is staffed mainly by volunteers from local churches who have come together for the purpose of serving families in crisis by offering the hope of Jesus Christ.

Where We Started

“It was my joy to watch the Lord bring the ministry of CRADLE into existence, and to see Him doing amazing things for His honor since that day.  He assembled a team of churches who have done together what they could not do on their own, to rescue the unborn as well as to bring hope to hurting individuals in the Tri-State area through the gospel of Christ"

-Pastor Brad Brandt, Wheelersburg Baptist Church

"Sitting at my desk one afternoon. Maura Pilet walks in with a Portsmouth phone book. She said “Have you ever noticed the Yellow Pages- under A-offer 9 Abortion services? “ No I said. She shows it to me. “Could we at least start praying about an Abortion alternative. We both prayed aloud and I said, sketch out a simple plan on first steps and we’ll run it by our Deacons. I too started by talking to a couple Pastor friends- 2 in Ohio/1 in Washington state. Also to the folks at Baptist Children’s Home in Indiana. She had some ideas within 8 or 9 days. We all agreed that there had to be support from area churches that were Doctrinally sound and likeminded. CRADLE was born and it was something God did. Not us. Long may it flourish.

Now the phone book has no Abortion services. First listed now under A is Abortion Alternatives. CRADLE"
